Follow Me Football Camp

“Follow Me” Moran Norris Football Camp

This summer youth football camp gave students throughout Houston and surrounding areas a chance to work one-on-one with professional athletics who volunteered their time to support the Foundation. Campers, ages 7-17, participated in fundamental drills, specialized position drills, a kicking session and team play. Selected high school campers who met specified criteria and who successfully adhered to guidelines were awarded a scholarship to attend a higher educational institution. Scholarship amounts are determined annually by Board Members. 2013 PHOTOS

Shopping for Good Character

This end of school year activity offers students from participating Houston public schools the opportunity to go on a shopping spree as an incentive for their substantial improvement and achievement in demonstrating good character. Students are observed in areas such as attendance, conduct, work ethic, and extracurricular and community participation. Shopping sprees will be conducted at the end of the spring semester followed by an award program where selected students are awarded laptops. LEARN MORE | 2013 PHOTOS

Follow Your Dream Scholarship

The Follow Your Dreams Scholarship program is a referral based scholarship that is provided to graduating high school seniors by the Moran Norris Foundation. Each student is selected for his performance both in the classroom and also for his ability to exemplify high standards of character.

Scholarships are awarded to high school seniors who have already been accepted into an accredited university and will face difficulties meeting the financial requirements to undertake this privilege. As such, The Moran Norris Foundation will contribute up to $1,500.00 to each student who qualifies for the award and receives the honor of being awarded this scholarship.

All applications are reviewed by the board of the Moran Norris Foundation including Moran and Tamara themselves. The earned monies are delivered directly to the accredited university and are to be used for financial assistance with tuition, purchasing books, and other general educational expenses. The average cumulative 4 year GPA of student who receives a scholarship can range anywhere from a 2.8 – 3.2, and every student who applies to the program must have a passing GPA.

Previous years donations have helped high school students from Jones and Madison High School attend accredited universities such as Steven F. Austin and Prairie View University.
